Chanceful Transformations

curator:Corinne Sacca Abadi

Sound Development: Pablo Anglade

Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires
MALBA

Technological collaboration: Laurence Bender and Leandro Nuñez

Stochastic Cultures is an interactive installation that creates a virtual space that embodies the activity inside the museum through light and sound.
As a result of simple actions taking place in keyboards and mice inside the museum texts and sounds are generated. The possibility of chaos and the emergence of patterns result from everyday doings we are unaware of. The installation offers a new way of thinking the spaces we inhabit and the life that unfolds inside them.

Absolute Zero

Ruth Benzacar Gallery

Absolute Zero is an exhibition in which I work with related objects and installations as a complete system.
The water is presented in its different states, temperature and heat are considered as formal elements.
The exhibtion pieces are blurred in the middle of the world representation and the presence of the natural phenomena.

Books of sand are interactive installations that consist of a glass bucket full of sand that when touching it with the hands, projected codes retrieved from the Web arise, interacting with the movement of the hands.
In Books of Sand emerges part of the Web dynamics of textual interrelations for a moment, materializing them in the image of codes and page contents, arising and interacting with the play of the hands in the sand soon to disappear.
Information, like the sand and the text, are indistinguishable and innumerable ones; they take their form by virtue of the inclusive –categorizing gesture of the hands at that precise moment.

a = b

Variations on the Museum:
remembering, ordering, classifying

curator: Rodrigo Alonso

Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires
MALBA

Technological collaboration: Laurence Bender

a = b is an installation in which people’s movement in the Museum interact with texts stored in a database.
People’s trajectories of movements in a certain region of the Museum are transformed into paths of characters and words that mimic their comings and goings into a text structure. The letters representing individuals’ paths are dynamically etched from text stored in the database and projected.

Sequence 17

6th Manifestation Internationale Video et Art Electronique Montreal.

curator: Graciela Taquini

sequence 17 is a video made with the Laurence Bender's collaboration

sequence 17 plays with a series of diffuse passages between the abstract and the material.
The minimal form and color propose a pictorial contemplation of the abstract object in very slow time.
Suddenly, an instant of maximum tension and ensuing rupture exposes its extreme materiality and intimacy in the expanding sound, returning soon again to the abstract.

Controlled Environment 2

curator: Julio Sanchez

Vergez Collection

Estudio Abierto Retiro
curator: Patricia Rizzo

Controlled Environment 2 is an installation where is reproduced a slow rain of drops that fall over hot metal plates, evaporating them instantaneously. The water flows into a closed circuit though thin and transparent tubes which come out from the gallery and cross the street hanging from the trees to then enter again in the space of the gallery.

Divergence Different from Zero is an installation where the clapping of the people on two books makes the words spring from their clefts, flowing toward the edges and remaining scattered on the floor.
The argument of one text is opposed to the other. They state a dialectic of the opposites.
In the braking of the linearity of its own context and flowing of words from each of the books each time that it is clapped, the sense of the discourse is dismounted to disseminate one the other, intermix and open the interpretative game.

Phase Changes (spanish only)

Arte En Progresión 1st edition. San Martín Cultural Center
curator: Graciela Taquini

Cambios de Fase is an installation in which coloured water flows thorough a long closed circuit of thin and transparent tubes. The tubes have little valves that allow a dripping at a different rhythms. Bubbles fall on hot metal plates that evaporate them instantaneously, generating chaotic sonorous patterns of evaporation sounds.
This installation was conceived for “Arte en Progresión” event 1st edition particularly for the space 1 of the San Martín Cultural Center. The tube circuit weave throughout the three building floors passing through holes and interstices. The tubes are connected to big test tubes settled on the third floor of the building and containing coloured liquids.

Controlled Environment 1

Arguibel Gallery

Controlled Environment 1 is an installation where is reproduced a slow rain of drops that fall over hot metal plates, evaporating them instantaneously. The water flows into a closed circuit though thin and transparent tubes which come out from the gallery and cross the street hanging from the trees to then enter again in the space of the gallery.
In this version,a group of electronic sensors detect the falling of the drops emitting a tiny bright signal each time that the drops pass in front of them, producing a bit of logical information shot by an integrated circuit.
